February Update

We have posted a draft of our public market case studies. These are detailed snapshots of other public market operations. We have documented how these other markets have been able to successfully adapt to their ever-changing contexts without losing their distinct character and history. Seeing what is working well at other public markets is an important reference when evaluating what strategies could work well for Eastern Market. We want to thank the market managers who met with us in putting together these case studies. They were all incredibly supportive of Eastern Market. The survey period has ended with over 3,000 community responses from all age groups and over 120 responses from business owners including merchants, vendors, flea market vendors, and nearby brick-and-mortar businesses. We are currently processing the results, cataloging more than 500 comments, and learning from what you all had to say. We want to thank everyone for donating a combined 650 hours of time to taking the survey. Your feedback will help strengthen the future of the market.
